VN-81 SUSPENDED SPAN LOWER-LEVEL DECK REHABILITATION, VERRAZZANO-NARROWS BRIDGE
This project entails the rehabilitation of the Lower-Level Deck on the Suspended Spans of the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, along with miscellaneous repairs of other suspended span elements, painting, and a new FDNY Fiber Line.

  • Concrete repairs
  • Rehabilitation of the existing deck relief joints
  • Structural steel repairs including parapets, safety walks, catwalks, and drainage elements
  • Replacement of segments of tower expansion barriers, tower finger joints, and support beams
  • Recoating of structural steel supporting finger joints
  • Repairs to the fire standpipe system elements
  • Electrical repairs
  • Removal and installation of signs and pavement markings
  • System Installations: Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) Systems and New Fiber Line for FDNY
  • Painting of structural steel elements
