January 2025

ALRA Engineers, P.C., is thrilled to announce the successful completion of our role as a subconsultant, providing construction inspection services for the RK-93 Design-Build project! This transformative infrastructure initiative enhances access and transportation connectivity to and from Randalls Island, New York.

Key Highlights:

• New Infrastructure: Two new vehicular ramps and three ADA-compliant pedestrian ramps.
• Roadway Restoration: Revitalization of existing Randalls Island roadways.
• Comprehensive Scope: Geotechnical investigations, demolition, asbestos and lead abatement, drill piles, concrete work, structural steel, bridge/underground drainage, electrical installations, and landscaping.
• Improved Connectivity: Enhanced access and transportation connectivity.
• Safety and Efficiency: Ensured safer and more efficient travel for all users.

We are proud to have contributed to this $108-million project, which has significantly improved traffic flow and provided ADA-compliant access for cyclists and pedestrians. Recognized as the Large Project of the Year over $40 Million by ASHE NY Metro at their January monthly meeting, RK-93 stands out for its complexity, innovative approach, and commitment to safety and sustainability.

We are thrilled to announce that Paul Taveras, P.E., has joined our team at ALRA Engineers, P.C. Paul is an experienced engineer with extensive knowledge in construction as well as bridge condition assessment inspections. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the States of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Paul’s dedication to excellence and innovative approach aligns perfectly with our commitment to delivering top-notch engineering solutions. He brings a wealth of knowledge and a fresh perspective to our projects. We are confident that his contributions will be invaluable as we continue to grow and achieve new milestones.

ALRA Engineers, PC hosted their annual Christmas party at the elegant Paramount Country Club, in the Dell Ballroom. The event was a festive gathering that brought together employees, their families, and special guests for an evening of celebration and camaraderie. The Christmas party at Paramount Country Club was a resounding success, leaving everyone in high spirits and looking forward to another prosperous year ahead.

ALRA Engineers attended the 38th Annual AGC NYS Construction Industry Conference held from December 10-12, 2024, in Saratoga Springs, NY. We participated in a variety of workshops and training programs, gaining valuable insights into the latest industry trends and innovations.

The conference provided an excellent opportunity for our team to enhance their knowledge in areas such as safety, artificial intelligence, and cutting-edge construction techniques. By attending these workshops, our engineers are better equipped to implement advanced solutions and maintain the highest standards of excellence in our projects.

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, ALRA Engineers took the initiative to organize a scenic ride to Café con Leche in Wappingers Falls, NY, a charming locale known for its vibrant culture and welcoming atmosphere. This event was not only a delightful opportunity for team members to enjoy the picturesque views of the Hudson Valley but also a meaningful way to honor and embrace the rich Hispanic heritage that contributes so much to the community’s diversity.

Café con Leche, renowned for its authentic Latin flavors and warm hospitality, provided the perfect backdrop for participants to engage in conversations about culture, history, and the ongoing contributions of Hispanic Americans. This gathering underscored ALRA Engineers’ commitment to fostering inclusivity and cultural appreciation within and beyond their professional environment.
